Jesse “Jess” Holder, 84, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024 with his loving family surrounding him.
Jess was born on March 11, 1940, in Black Rock, Arkansas, the son of Marvin and Rena (Beeler) Holder.
Jess married Willene “Willie” Davis on February 15, 1959 at the Four Square Church of DeKalb. Together, they raised their five “Holder girls“ in St Charles, Illinois until Willie’s death in 1997. Their little home was bustling with so much love, laughter, chaos and endless entertainment. No less than ten cars were parked around their home on any given day. His happiest days were spent on his boat on the river with his family.
Jess spent his career in the automotive industry working as a parts manager at various dealerships throughout the years. He was a quiet, gentle, loving and generous man that would give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his wife Marge Gerbino; his daughters Debbie (Scott) Dixon, Lisa (Kevin) McFarlane, Ann (Tim) Allen, Dede (Lance) Honeyman and Kari (Bret) Sulaver; his stepdaughter Michelle Gerbino; his 13 grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Willene; his parents Marvin and Rena; and his brother Marvin A. Holder.
The Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
Visitation will be held from 4pm until the time of service at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
