BARBARA LOUISE MOSER

Barbara Louise Moser, 91, passed away on April 21, 2024, at Grand Victorian in Sycamore, IL.

She was born October 17, 1932 in Greenville, MI, daughter of the late Raymond and Frances (Weeks) VanVlerah. Barbara married Kenneth Moser on November 27, 1954 in Cortland, Illinois. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, son Todd, great-granddaughter Mattea Lesorgen, sisters Betty (Kenneth) Snyder and Donna (John) Wilbanks.

She loved her large family and was blessed by many visits in Michigan by her children, grandchildren, and extended family where many memories were made.  She was known for being an excellent cook. Barb loved to garden and shop local orchards so she could put her great skill of canning fresh produce, to use each year. She especially was known for introducing her family to chocolate gravy and biscuits and her famous aebleskivers.

Barb and Kenneth were active members of the DeKalb and Greenville First Church of the Nazarene, where they enjoyed serving in various ways.

Throughout her career, Barb worked at General Electric, Wurlitzer, and Turner in Illinois before moving to Greenville, MI, in 1972. She then worked for the Greenville Public Schools until her retirement in 1994.

Barb is survived by her children Tom Siebalt of Mount Morris, Rev. Terry (Linda) Soltow of Belvidere, Tim (Ellen) Moser of DeKalb, Tracy (Ida Mitchell) Moser of Cortland, Trent (Kristen) Moser of Cortland, and daughter-in-law Pat (Todd) Moser of DeKalb. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, her brothers Richard (Bonnie Kennedy) VanVlerah and Roger (Nancy) VanVlerah, and sister Dolores (John) Yerly.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, Barb will be laid to rest at Grand Detour Cemetery in Grand Detour Township, IL.
